Carolina Handling Honors Veterans, First Responders with BMW Charity Pro-Am Sponsorship, Golf Bag Giveaway

Veterans and first responders not only will have a VIP view of the BMW Charity Pro-Am from the Carolina Handling Military Skybox, but also the chance to win a Burton golf bag hand painted by nationally known performance artist Joe Everson.

Carolina Handling is the title sponsor of the BMW Charity Pro-Am Military & First Responders Skybox, a premier hospitality area exclusively for military veterans and first responders attending the June 9-12 tournament at Thornblade Club in Greenville, S.C. and Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C. The sponsorship supports the Palmetto State Chapter of Folds of Honor and Upstate Warrior Solution.

“Military veterans comprise 13 percent of Carolina Handling associates, so the partnership with the BMW Pro-Am was a natural fit for our company,” said Carolina Handling President & CEO Brent Hillabrand. “We are honored to recognize our veterans and first responders, support the work of Folds of Honor and Upstate Warrior Solution, and give back to those who give so much of themselves for our safety and security.”

Before the fun begins on the course, Carolina Handling has launched an online contest to award four Burton golf bags to a military veteran, firefighter, police officer and EMT. To enter, simply visit @carolina.handling on Facebook to post a photograph of yourself, family member or friend in uniform. Tag that person and they automatically will be entered to win one of the custom golf bags, in their category, in a random drawing to be held on Monday, June 13.

Valued at $5,000 each, the Burton golf bags have been hand painted by Everson, a singing action artist from Greenville, S.C. Known for painting iconic patriotic scenes while singing the National Anthem, Everson has raised more than $1 million for active military and veterans through the sale of his performance art. The four golf bags to be awarded in the Carolina Handling contest have elements that are meaningful to veterans and first responders such as the raising of the U.S. flag at Iwo Jima, the Thin Blue Line flag, firefighters raising the U.S. flag at Ground Zero and the EMS emblem.
