Operators Unlimited Hosts Wastewater Operators Continuing Education Event

OU Supports Customers and Industry Colleagues Obtain CEU Credits

Operators Unlimited, Inc. is hosting an in-person Wastewater Operator Continuing Education Event, April 18-19 at the University Center of Greenville. Participants will earn 6 hours of continuing education units per day attended for a total of 12 continuing education units with each day’s agenda beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.

This event is open to any industrial or municipal wastewater operator with a South Carolina physical/chemical or biological license D, C, B or A needing continuing education units. Course content satisfies the SCLLR (South Carolina Labor Licensing Regulation) requirements for biennial continuing education credits. Course topics include: FOG (Fats, Oil and Grease); solids de-watering, pretreatment inspection and documentation; wastewater mathematics; sampling, lab reporting, self-monitoring reports (SMR); remote monitoring and controls; bench top study and bridging the gap between industry and POTW.

“This continuing education event is not only a state requirement but also allows experienced operators opportunities to stay up to date on evolving trends in the industry. Operators Unlimited (OU) is also helping new operators strengthen their industry knowledge and career foundation,” said Brad Jones, OU, Director of Operations.

David Collyer, OU Wastewater Operations and Education Specialist will lead the education classes as the primary instructor. Having spent the past 30 years working in wastewater, safety and environmental positions, David understands the specialized skills and perspectives needed to efficiently operate a wastewater treatment plant.

Over the course of his career, David has worked in both industrial and municipal facilities and has an advanced level of knowledge regarding the intricacies of both physical/chemical, biological and combination treatment systems.

Those interested in attending can register online at the Operators Unlimited website. Participants may choose to attend one or both class days. The registration cost for the entire event is $100 or operators can participate in a one-day session for $50 per day.
